Woodland Gives Back

In Iraq and Afghanistan there are soldiers fighting for the United States. They are recognized for everything that they do, but sophomore Stephanie Beausoleil wanted to give them more recognition.

She started a group here called Woodland Gives Back(WGB) asking students to join and help the soldiers. The group sends them care packages and some videos, along with games and other things to keep them amused while they are waiting on a mission call.

The group will also be sending letters and are trying to keep in touch with the soldiers while they are overseas. Beausoleil also wants to help them because soon enough her boyfriend Ben Froster will be heading out to the Marines after high school.

“For my senior project I really want to see if Dr. Frank would let us go over and see the soldiers that we have been talking to and sending the care packages to,” says the ambitious sophomore.

WGB will also be having their first drive which will be held here at Woodland on June 12th from noon to three in the afternoon. It will be to send them care packages and other goods.

There will be more coming up and will be announced to the students so they can attend and support their troops.
