Breaking News: Relay Under the Lights

The musical performance part of Kate Frenette and Jill Pagoni’s senior project scheduled for this evening has been cancelled.

The original senior project was a relay for monetary support for cancer while a concert consisting of local bands was organized as an extension of the relay.

“The senior project was a relay for life and the concert was not part of the authorized project,” said Dr. Arnold Frank, Principal of Woodland Regional High School.

News of the concert was leaked to Facebook, attracting large amounts of people who believed that they were going to attend a concert.

Bands such as The Premier, Send Your Regards, As Pirates Often Do, and Anchors Sink Ships were supposed to play a live concert on the school’s football field.

The concert was cancelled earlier this afternoon once the school administration discovered that the concert was going to take place.

Frank said, “My concern was that people would be going for the concert and not for the relay.”

What does it matter if the kids were going for the relay or the bands? The money would have still gone to the cancer fund. The only thing that’s happened here is that Relay For Life has lost 200 some people, and therefore over 1,000 in money for cancer.
