Atwoods Skate A-Thon

Skate for the American Heart Association on April 18th with Woodland senior, Amber Atwood.

Atwood decided to host a skate-a-thon because skating means a lot to her.

“I used to be on a skating team. It’s my hobby, so I wanted to raise money doing something I love,” said Atwood.

All of the money that is raised for the skate-a-thon will be donated to the American Heart Association. Atwood is raising money for the American Heart Association because of family members who suffered from heart problems.

“I chose to raise money for the American Heart Association because a few members of my family have passed [away] from heart attacks and skating is cardio which is important for [a healthy heart], so it just fit,” said Atwood.

The skate-a-thon will be held at the Waterbury Roller Magic, ( 60 Harvester Road.)

Check-in begins at 12 pm and the skating starts at 12:30pm and will continue until about 4 pm.

Participants must pledge at least $10 and there is an entry fee of $5.50.

If you do not have skates, have no worries, rental skates and blades will be available.

If you have any other questions, you can call Atwood at (203)-578-0333.
