Book Drive

Woodland students and faculty may have been wondering why there is such a large box outside of the media center. Well, that box is a big part of Sarah Rocks’ senior project.

Rocks has organized a book drive as her project. Anyone that has books that they do not want anymore are welcome to put them in this box. All types of books will be accepted, such as children’s books and textbooks. The books will then be sent to Better World Books. Better World Books will sell the books and make a donation to a charity.

Rocks has chosen the Invisible Children Organization as the recipient of the donations. Members of this organization are working in the war-torn country of Uganda. Their goal is to help refugees return and settle into the country as well as put kids in school.

A box for books has also been placed outside of the Beacon Falls Pharmacy. Books are being collected up until Friday, March 5th.
