Big Expectations for Golf Team

With Spring sports at Woodland underway, there is one team that has high hopes and expectations for their upcoming season. The Woodland Golf team is excited for this years season, and have work to do.The team consists of 8 people, 7 of them being new to the team. Most of the new members have little experience, and some of them have never golfed before in their life.

“Our main goal is to teach the new guys the game and help them improve,” says Tom Conroy, who has been an avid golfer.

To help prepare themselves for the season, they spent a lot of time on the range before the season begins to help everyone to get to where they can play comfortably and efficiently.

“We don’t have any big rivalries, but Holy Cross always tends to be the team to beat. There’s currently a good amount of teams in the NVL rebuilding their teams just like we are, so there is not a really tight competitive aspect.”

As said by Conroy, the team’s largest goal for the team is rebuilding back what they have lost. They lost 3 out of the 4 that competed in the full season last year, Conroy being the only one left. There is a lot of new players that have great potential.
