Prospect Lions 5k Run/Walk in Honor of Woodland Alumni

Prospect Lions 5k Run/Walk in honor of Woodland Alumni.

The Prospect Lions, a local organization who hosts a 5k and 2k Run and Walk every year, has dedicated their race in memory of Kerri Rogoz, who was a graduate of the Woodland Class of 2012.

Known as a cheerleader, and a friend to many, she was kind, compassionate, and caring. She was always willing to help those in need, whether it be a friend who had a fight with their parents and needed somewhere to stay, or a stray animal who needed a home.

Jill Rogoz, Kerri’s mother, felt that the race was a perfect match for Kerri. “It was a great marriage between what the Lions Club stands for, and what Kerri’s whole embodiment was,” Jill Rogoz explains, “Kerri was always helping those in need, and the Lions Club is helping those in need.

The race will take place on Saturday, September 30th, 2017. “We have a lot of participants already signed up,” Rogoz stated. So far, 57 participants have signed up. Racers who would like to participate, but did not sign up online are welcome to come to St. Anthony’s Church upper parking lot, by the finish line before 9:15 AM, and choose which race they want to participate in. Those participating should arrive after 8:00 AM.

The proceeds of the race will go towards local people who are in need, including providing money for those who need food, gas, or groceries.
