The Writer’s Wing: Tutoring the Hawks

Whether you are an incoming freshman, or an AP literature, honors-student senior, everyone can get help and guidance on their writing by the Writer’s Wing club members. The goal is to get students interacting with one another, to improve writing skills and spread the love of composition.

The Writer’s Wing, located in the library, is a safe space for students to get their writing– any type from any class– looked at by another peer. Since founded last year, the Writer’s Wing founder Anna Muharem, and her staff of about thirty, have been working towards Woodland to become a place of sophisticated writing. The Writer’s Wing is a positive place for everyone to get feedback, no matter what kind of writing style it is.

Not only does this process help the tutee develop better skills, but it also makes the tutors more aware and more tactful for their own compositions.  Overall, it benefits everyone and could only help students further their learning.

Students are advised to go down to the library before, during, or after school to experience a chance at advancing their writing. And remember as their saying goes: “You’ll always be safe under our wing!”
