Star Wars: The Force Awakens Excites Fans Across the Country

With the craze for the premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens in full swing, fans have bought tickets for showings that are as far as three weeks from the release. Fans who have purchased these early tickets may consider themselves “die-hard fans,” but true die-hard fans are taking the Star Wars series far beyond the others..

A man living in Colorado bought $2180 worth of tickets. He is planning on being the only person in the theater, now that he holds all of the tickets. He sat on his computer for three hours, waited until the very moment that the tickets went online for purchase, and instantly sold out the cinema’s midnight release.

Other fans have been continually fighting over how to prepare for the upcoming film since the first trailer was released. One of the larger debates is over the order in which to watch the first two trilogies. There are two main groups: one of which believes to watch the movies from Episode I: The Phantom Menace to Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, in order of the releases. The other group argues starting from Episode IV: A New Hope, through Episode VI, then returning to Episodes I through III, the order in which George Lucas, the creator of Star Wars, intended.

Nevertheless, there is a more attainable level of nerdiness for those who wish to join in on the multi-decade-spanning “fandom.” Everyday, people continuously travel to stores to purchase Star Wars merchandise and the previous six movies, along with the recent video game reboot Star Wars: Battlefront. Newcomers to the series tend to find everything they can about the large scale intergalactic war by attempting to buy, watch, read, and play anything that they can find about the series. And newcomers have a lot of catching up to do, especially with the global phenomenon for the upcoming seventh sequel to the past two trilogies.

Unless you want to get left behind in the fray of The Force Awakens, you better strap on your lightsaber, practice your Force, and gear up for the rebellion.
