The five seniors on the team wear different numbers on the back of their jerseys, but they all wear the same expression of disbelief when “The Star Spangled Banner” begins to play. For years, they have hung decorations and made posters for upperclassmen. And now, this is finally the moment they have been waiting for the last four years: their senior night.
On October 27th, Woodland Girls Soccer dominated Derby, ending with a final score of 9-1. Although the win was not exceptional for the team, which remains undefeated this season, the night was definitely special because it honored the five seniors on the team: Jessica Rodrigues, Shae Geary, Alexa Casmiro, Sonia Sousa, and Val Vinca.
The seniors may have already been honored for their years as Hawks, but their reign is not over yet. Go support them as they compete against Watertown for the title of NVL Champions on Thursday, November 5th. The game will be at 5:30 at Municipal Stadium.
