Girls’ Basketball Team Dedicates Game to Margaret Varhol

We aren’t just playing for our team. We’re playing for a member of the Woodland family,” explains Jess Moffo, Head Coach of girls’ basketball team.

The game, played against Naugatuck High School, was dedicated to Margaret Varhol, a mother, friend, and large member of the Woodland community who lost her long battle against cancer on February 5, 2015.

The girls’ basketball team is very “family oriented”, Moffo shares, and played together as one true team. The stands were packed with fans wanting to show their support for the Varhol family. The girls won 54-28 and, even better, honored an inspirational member of the Woodland community.
