CVS No Longer Sells Tobacco Products

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says tobacco is “the single most preventable cause of disease, disability and death in the United States,” saying 443,000 people die from smoking or exposure to secondhand smoke each year.
When you walk into a CVS now the only smoking products they sell are products to help you quit smoking, which are the nicotine gums, patches and pills. They even sell cigarette packs called The Last Pack, which is basically your last pack of cigarettes before you begin to quit.

They are even changing their name to CVS Health.CVS wants to be known as a place where you are in a healthy environment. They do not think that advertising tobacco products is a way to be healthy. They are the first large chain to stop selling tobacco products and the second largest drugstore chain in the USA to begin this campaign.

The campaign is making a huge impact. People are not going to other stores to buy their cigarettes now but they actually are not buying them all together.

CVS has made a great decision on no longer selling tobacco products any longer and hopefully more drugstore chains follow their lead in this campaign against smoking.
