Organization

By Jordan Tolnay

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! That expression is heard a lot around Christmas time. However, students may feel more like it is the worst time of the year. It is always expected to go on break and celebrate, or just to relax for others. Often times students get overwhelmed with schedules and assignments. Teachers usually assign projects and or homework assignments that need to be done, because hey, you have nothing else to do over break right?

Those times when you feel overwhelmed can be well—overwhelming and sometimes just a little bit of help could be the best gift. Just try to stay organized!

“I make checklists for myself and do everything daily and I set goals for what needs to be done what day, so my break doesn’t get ruined by all my work.” said Casey Stevens, junior at Woodland.

Much to teacher’s dismay not many students actually like doing work over break, actually the majority of students hate it. Sometimes it helps a lot if you have a little bit of motivation. Just think of your grades, if you don’t complete the assignment you will fail, then you might not get into college, then not get a job, then become a bum!

Make a calendar or a list of all your assignments before you leave school this way you can grab all of your needed supplies to complete your work, which should not be done January 1st, the day before school is back in.

“They need to read a book, they should also study their notes so they don’t forget what the learned,” said Ms.Hrenko a math teacher at Woodland.

Winter break is so much fun, but the guilt of not finishing assignments dampens the mood. So challenge yourself not to procrastinate this winter break.
