Top Trends of the Fall

With summer fading fast and fall right around the corner, it’s time for some serious wardrobe makeovers.

This year Woodland  students have already began to rock some of the fall’s top trends.                                                                                                                                     If you find yourself sprinting to class one day with your head down (let’s be honest, it’s the quickest way to get to a class without having to stop and scream and hug someone who you haven’t seen all summer) its more than likely that you will see a pair or two of Sperry Topsiders gracing the feet of Woodland students.

These classic boat shoes come in a wide array of colors, from basic beige to leopard print to sequin coated, so they are extremely versatile.

“I wear my Sperry’s all the time,” said sophomore Meghan Terry, “There comfortable, easy and go with everything.”

Another style being shown off in the halls of Woodland is the colored skinny jean trend. Pastel colors and bright hues alike have been displayed in dozens of store windows and every fashion magazine available.

“I love my peach colored jeans,” said sophomore Sara Fowler, “They add a really nice pop of color to my wardrobe.”

When cuffed and matched with a cute neutral colored top and ballet flats, colored jeans are the truly a fall staple.

This fall, fun patterns are also big. By adding a polka dot scarve or stripped sweater, you can get that pop of color without going to extreme.

Chambray button down shirts are also in high demand this fall.  They have a denim look and go well with black skinnies and boots or even a sparkly skirt on those fancy feeling days.

Along with Chambray shirts   sheer tops can also be seen all over the halls of Woodland. Perfect for dressing up jeans or polishing off those professional looking slacks, sheer tops are a must have(as long as a tank top is underneath, see through is a major no go.)

“They are lightweight and just look pretty,” said junior Caroline Ecke.

Riding boots are another perfect fall accent piece.  They’re good for keeping warm in the winter months as well. Paired with a chunky sweater and leggings or a knit dress and tights riding boots, they  pull together any outfit wonderfully.

Long gone are the days of denim shorts and easy t-shirts. School is back in session and so is style.
