In the music industry while everything should be based off of sound, it is instead often based off of appearance too.

For anyone who does not fit the picture perfect person it can sometimes be hard to make it in the music business.

Shows like American Idol allow ordinary people the opportunity to become the next big star. But appearance always plays a role in this.

A new TV show called The Voice eliminates this problem.

This show is similar to American Idol in the fact that it allows ordinary people to audition. However, the age limit on The Voice allows people of any age.

The four judges on The Voice are Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, Cee Lo Green, and Adam Levine.

All four judges are seated in big red chairs that turn around on their own. When a singer performs all the judges have their backs to the performers. If the judge would like to coach them they hit a button that then turns their chair around.

This effect allows the performers to be judged on their voice alone and no other factors.

Each judge will put together a team of eight people they want to coach. Once the auditions are through and the teams are picked the judges will work with each team member.

The judges will then narrow their team down to four members. Then America takes over by calling in and voting for their favorite performers.

In some aspects it may be similar to shows like American Idol but on the other hand The Voice allows the performer to show case their voice without being judged on their appearance.

As the weeks go by America will be left to decide. So tune in to NBC Tuesday nights at ten and decide who will be America’s next voice.
