Different Styles for Different Types

There are a lot of different types of bathing suits and each can be suited for different body types.

With summer just around the corner and bathing suit shopping starting up, girls are once again trying to find the “perfect” bathing suit.

There is a “pear” shape which is when you are small-busted with average-size waist and a large bottom. With a “pear” shape the wearer wants to draw attention to the bust to seem less bottom heavy.

Tankinis are very flattering and provide support for the bust. Look for a bathing suit with a pattern on top and solid on the bottom.

It is okay to wear a patterned top with a solid bottom. For extra coverage wear a skirted bottom or boy short-cut. If the skirt is too long, it can make the person wearing it look heavier on the bottom.

Avoid bottoms with belts or skirts if they draw attention to parts not wanted to be emphasized.

For girls with a curvy shape or a large bust, a one piece bathing suit with a bold color to show off the curves. Bathing suits with empire waists or a low-cut bust will flatter the hour glass shape by pulling the attention off of the mid-section.
If the person wearing the bathing suit has a large bust, that should not keep them from wearing a two-piece. A halter or top with side straps will work. Choose one with a built-in bra for extra support; make sure there is enough coverage to keep the top in place for water activities and general movement.

For girls with an athletic or straight figure, you do not have many curves, sporty suits look good on slender and athletic bodies. Slender girls or women and ones with toned and muscular bodies can wear many cuts on the top and bottom.
Bandeau and slider tops, along with low-rise hipster bottoms, boy shorts, or scoop bottoms without looking bottom-heavy.
People, who are tall, long legs and torso, should wear all-over pattern that may draw attention away from their height and want to draw attention to the areas that they want to show off.

If the person wearing it has long legs, they may want to play them up with a bottom that ties at the hip.
For petite girls, look for a suit that is high-cut in the thigh, by doing that they are making their legs look longer.
Avoid boy shorts and skirted bottoms which will make them look shorter. The best bet is to go for a design that runs vertically, or stick with bright colored solids.

V-shaped necklines also draw the eye up and down, making the person wearing it appear taller. Bathing suits with thinner straps on the bottom also elongate the legs.

The person shopping may fit into more than one category. Knowing what categories they fit into will help narrow the decision time in half.
