VIDEO:: Woodland Makes History

Danbury – Woodland’s Preserving Our Histories Club won first place at the Connecticut Student Film Festival in the Historical Short category. The event was held at Danbury’s Palace Theatre where students from around the state gathered to display their work.
     Woodland’s documentary focused on Lt. Col. Henry Hart and his service during World War II.  The film depicted Hart in Hiroshima immediately following the dropping of the Atomic bomb.
     The film was produced by twelve Woodland students as well as contributions from Naugatuck High School.  Lorenzo DeCampos and Rebecca Bock accepted the award on behalf of Woodland Regional at the ceremony. The film was executive produced by Chris Decker and Lisa Olivere.

    Congratulations on making a award-winning film, everyone! I just returned from Hiroshima and Nagasaki this summer and that journey made watching this documentary that much more powerful to me. I will be showing it to my 8th grade classes in the spring. Again well done!!
