Mrs. Hollywood and her advisory are asking for you to help donate pens, pencils, and 5×8 legal pads for their “Pen Raiser”. All donations will go to Port Au Prince earthquake refugees and other residents of Haiti.

They will be collected Tuesday, April 13th to Friday, April 16th during advisory. Donations can also be brought to the Math Department Teacher Center.

Mrs. Hollywood thinks that supporting this cause will help us remember Haiti and the tragedy that happened there, “We thought that by collecting supplies through the school would mean we could send more of them. But more importantly, it might be a meaningful way to connect with people there. Haiti has long felt forgotten, and it would be easy to forget them even now, because the earthquake devastation is no longer in the news,” she stated.

We want people in Haiti to know that Woodland is still making an effort to help them, and that they are not being forgotten. Hopefully, when they get to hold a simple pen or pencil, that will make them realize that people around the world are still willing to help.
