Indoor Track Dominates NVL

For the first time in Woodland history, the  Boys Indoor Track team came home with the first place trophy. The Girls Indoor Track team also arrived home with a victorious second place trophy.
Both teams were able to to pull through and place during the  grueling 6 hour meet.

“When you get a lot of people who believe in the same thing, things happen,” said Coach Tim Shea, “I am happy for both sides. This is the best finish both teams have had.”
Over the course of the night Woodland had many key victories that helped set us above schools like Seymour and Holy Cross.
Woodland Girls placed first in pole vault with the help of Brittany Battis and the 55 hurdles with Alyssa Marti.
In the 600, 1000, and 1600 the Woodland Girls came in third place.
They were even successful during the relays, placing second in the 4×800 and 4×400 and coming in third for the 4×200.
For the boys’ team victory was made possible with wins in 4×400, 2×200, the 300, the 1000, and the 1600 sprint medley.
The boys were also successful in the long jump, 55 hurdles, the 3200, the 1600the 600, and the 4×800 relay.
Overall the night was a success and each component of the meet played a huge part.
