Blood Drive Success

Every year a student chooses to do a Blood Drive for their Senior Project. However, this year Robin Jazxhi surpassed all the others.

On January 7th, 2010 Woodland Regional High School became part of a network of millions of Americans who donate their time, money and blood to the humanitarian work of the Red Cross.

“I always wanted to give blood yet I was never able to,” said Jazxhi, “So I figured it would be a great idea to host it myself.”

Jazxhi’s Blood Drive outmatched all the other Blood Drives in the past. Jazxhi’s goal was only to get 40 people to donate, however the number exceeded over 100.

“I am so happy with the turn out, I can not believe how successful it truly was,” said Jazxhi.

Nevertheless, to get this good of an outcome, Jazxhi put in a lot of hard work.

“I started preparations in the beginning of November, I was working on it ever since,” said Jazxhi, “My mentor certainly helped me along the way.”

In the Gymnasium, 8 beds were set up with many Red Cross staff members.

The actual donation takes about 8-10 minutes, during which you will be seated comfortably. The Staff makes sure there is a positive and safe environment for all the donators.

Robin Jazxhi’s senior project definatly was rewarding.

Lastly she stated, “The feeling of accomplishment knowing that you have helped save lives is incredible.”
