Coin Flip May Determine Final Board Seat

The campaigning has lasted for months and on Election Day all of the candidate’s hard work had paid off.

The Board of Education race was very close in Beacon Falls.

Two democrats vied for two of the three seats available.

Democrat Sheryl Feducia won the first seat on the board with 1087 regular votes, not counting the Absentee ballots.

“Its all about the kids, now they have a voice,” said Feducia, “I am very thankful to the people of Beacon Falls.”

Liz Falzone and Republican William Fredericks competed for the second and final seat on the board.

Falzone achieved nine hundred and eleven votes while Fredericks, received the same.

Because of the tie, the results were sent to the State Capital along with the rest of the election results.

However an automatic recount will be done on the votes. There are two ways the tie can be settled.

The opponents can either come to a mutual agreement or a coin will be flipped to determine the winner.

The candidates can also agree to a political runoff, but monetary costs may prohibit that option.

These three candidates have worked hard this campaign season, which might end with the flip of a coin.
