Girls Soccer Downs the Eagles

Woodland played for the cure on Tuesday, October 13th.

In support of breast cancer awareness the Woodland Girls Soccer team played against Wolcott.

The socccer team turned their regular season game into a fundraiser by holding a fifty-fifty raffle. The money collected in the raffle was donated to the Susan G. Leoman Breast Cancer Foundation.

Over four hundred dollars was put into the fifty-fifty raffle and a significant amount of which was donated to the Breast Cancer Foundation.

The girls from Woodland had their own collection during the game, in which they collected fifty dollars. They sold pink bracelets in honor of the foundation.

The game lasted the normal two halves, each half lasting forty-five minutes.

Goalie Rebecca Bock saved a total of seven shots helping Woodland win by the score of two to one.

Forward Raven Palmerie scored both of Woodland’s goals putting them over the top of Wolcott.

The second goal Palmerie scored came within the last one tenth of a second in the second half.

Its was a very dramtic game that game down to the buzzer.

Woodland was motivated and hopefully will be in their next game against  Torrington tomorrow.
